FOR THE 9-5
By Ashley | August 27, 2017

Is your 9 to 5 taking a toll on your body? You may find that you're easily tired throughout the day, you’ve gained weight and you’re getting sick frequently. Staying fit and healthy when you work a full-time job sitting down can be difficult. So, here are 5 healthy lifestyle hacks for the 9-5
1) Drink less coffee:
We all drink coffee to boost our energy. However, drinking coffee throughout the day, especially more than one cup per day, will cause us to lose valuable sleep at night. Therefore, ditch the coffee. Drink water, or a fruit juice. It nourishes the body and it tastes better than coffee! We can agree to disagree coffee lovers :-)
2) Be on the go throughout the day:
Sitting in a chair for 9 hours slows down our metabolism leading us to gain weight and with a stiff back. Get up to get water from the water cooler or refill your water bottle. Walk to your food destination, take the stairs instead of the elevator, and instead of sending an email to Stacy who is across the room walk to her. Getting up throughout the day will keep you active.
3) Eat Healthy Lunches:
A home cooked "healthy" meal is better than a Styrofoam box of fried chicken with curry gravy or KFC. The home cooked meal is fresh with minerals and vitamins, as opposed to MSG and fat that cause nigaritis. In addition, you can control the portions you take into your body if you're preparing the meal yourself.
: Most companies now have found out the hard way that having an unhealthy workforce hits the pocket DEEP and have made meaningful steps to fix that. From setting up onsite gyms or boot 5) Take advantage of healthy work perks
There’s always that one person at the workplace who sells snacks that you’re always going to buy. Stop buying from them. Snack on fruits or nuts that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants that boost your energy levels as opposed to snacks that reduce it.4) Snack Healthily: camps, to dance classes, and even yoga. Take advantage. Grab your workplace bestie for accountability, put down the laptops and get involved.
Not only can a 9 to 5 be daunting on us, don’t let it affect the overall health of our body. So, if you’re reading this post while sitting down – it’s time to get up ladies and gents. Start moving those limbs, and muscles. Work your way into a healthy you...(pun intended)
